The community saw you, O' Hope,
The community saw you, they cringed and gasped;
They applauded when they caught sight of you.
And the young men stood at your arrival;
They stood in awe because you were
like a bride for a groom, beautiful.
The children sang to you
And they held hands in unity from all races
They danced and danced for days
And their song has been echoed for years
You inspired us to live.
