Bamboozled!

By John Felder
Columnist

America, America, God shed his grace on thee.

Dating back to when New York was called New Amsterdam, and the indigenous Native Americans inhabited the North American continent, class separation has been limiting the growth of this country from becoming the greatest nation in the world. Today, greed and corruption are destroying the universe, along with global warming, which is destined to complete the devastation of the planet.

Now you might ask yourself: Where am I going with the title of this piece? This article is a wake-up call to all citizens who are being or have been oppressed. Whether the oppression is on your job, in your family, or at home is irrelevant. The time has come for everyone to put on their thinking caps, instead of relying on television, video, and movies to direct their minds.

Look at the Middle East, for example. In Israel, prime real estate that belonged for thousands of years to the indigenous Palestinians was forcefully occupied, which has resulted in terrible and ongoing war. In the region today, there are very dangerous circumstances developing as we sleep, while key players in the central U.S. government are stepping down from the arena of corruption and greed. I hope that the voters wake up before it is too late to turn this apocalyptic course of events around.

Racism evolves in the world when one culture of people lacks respect for another, even though we are all humankind. If U.S. central intelligence does not wise up and keep its nose out of other cultures’ struggles, we may find all the American citizens’ in harm’s way. If we require oil, we should buy it at a fair price and keep the line moving. No more blood for resources.

President Chavez of Venezuela has established fair market prices for natural resources that other countries need. Other countries in the world should show a similar respect for resources. For instance, diamonds out of Africa need to be used to strengthen Africa economically, instead of to generate wealth for others.

None of humankind is free if one of us is in chains.
