THIS MONTH'S OPINIONS

April is Not Just for Showers
Recently, I participated in an event at a church in Manhattan. The event was a way of bringing "sisters" together and discussing health and wellness issues, such as depression, teen dating violence, domestic violence and heart disease.

Is Highbridge a community?
What is a community? The Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary has about seven different definitions. I have chosen three: a unified body of individuals; people with common interests living in a particular area;or a group of people with a common policy.

Benedict's Coat of Arms: An Attempt to Atone?
Recently, I was at my girlfriend’s home, and—together with her relatives—we were watching a special on television about the Pope's visit to our city. Someone noticed the face of a person of color located on the top left corner of the shield on the Pope’s Coat of Arms, and inquired as to what it was.
